Begun in 1985, Gelato Fino Desserts has developed from a “hobby out of control” into a thriving
and creative enterprise. Manufacturing an amazing variety of handmade baked and frozen
desserts, our happy customers include over 350 South Florida restaurants and country clubs; as
well as foodservice distributors, cruise lines and retail establishments. Last year we shipped over
100,000 cases of products.
Our founder, Gregory Parker, learned the love of desserts from his mother, Madeleine Guimont
Parker. Truly a renaissance woman, her many talents and enthusiasms included an abiding love of
great food in general, and something sweet in particular. Her Charlotte Russe and other French
desserts were unbelievable! Our logo with the two ladies looking in either direction represents her constant search for something wonderful.
While living in Vermont during the early 70’s Gregory discovered and became an aficionado of ice
cream making (weren’t there a couple of other guys in Vermont who did that?) That passion and a
chance encounter with gelato in the early 80’s became the inspiration for starting Gelato Fino.
Commitment, fortitude, and above all an amazing staff have both nurtured and sustained the company over
the years. Many of our artisans have been with us for 10 years or more. Gelato Fino cherishes and values its
employees, rewarding them with benefits not typical in the food manufacturing industry. In turn, the staff’s
loyalty, stability and dedication to quality have become the foundation for all of our endeavors.
